PROJECTS

IBIS PROJECT

Lynher cic, Food is Fun cic and Fair Table cic collaborated to deliver assemblies to primary schools in Plymouth and S.E.Cornwall.
Chef Matt Corner delivered each assembly, telling the story of Ibis, a Cornish Lugger, and our fishing heritage. He taught about modern fishing techniques, sustainability and ethical practice.
There was a presentation of fish and seafood along with other props such as lobster pots; an interactive cooking session followed.
Assemblies were for between 40 and 90 students, years 4-6.

Community cook pilot sessions

In partnership with Sovereign Network Group, Fair Table delivered cooking sessions to over 55’s in residential housing in Plymouth.
The idea was to help create a better sense of community through the delivery of cooking sessions and subsequent lunch; residents were able to get hands on or sit back and watch. Stories were told of each other’s lives and laughs were shared.
One resident explained how they hadn’t left their flat in weeks and felt the benefit to their wellbeing was fantastic.

Catch and Cook

In partnership with Truro Nourish Hub; Fair Table delivered a pizza cooking session where approximately 100 local residents had the opportunity to enjoy music, food and conversation in the gardens of their village hall. The idea was to help build community connection and improve wellbeing.
